Social Work and Social Research: 100 for 100

As it continues its Centennial Celebration, the GSSWSR honors 100 distinguished graduates.

More than 340 alumnae/i and their families and other members of the Graduate School of Social Work and Social Research community attended the Centennial Celebration held at the Crystal Tea Room in Philadelphia on November 13.  The storied hall was filled with the music of the Play On, Philly! ensemble from the St. Francis de Sales School and selections from the Anna Crusis Women’s Choir.

GSSWSR Dean Darlyne Bailey kicked off the festivities, and U.S. Senator Barbara A. Mikulski, who began her career as a social worker, sent a video welcome. A roster of distinguished speakers paid tribute to the School: BMC President Kim Cassidy; Charles E. Lewis, Jr., of the Congressional Research Institute for Social Work and Policy; Ann Logan ’76, chair of the Bryn Mawr Board of Trustees; and BMC Trustee Patrick McCarthy, Ph.D. ’81, president and CEO of the Annie E. Casey Foundation.

Following a video in which alumni reflected on their experiences at the School and in their careers, Dean Bailey once again took the stage to present the 100 most distinguished GSSWSR graduates with a medal as a tribute to their service.
