Oh, What a Night!

The 125th Anniversary Scholarship Benefit, held April 27 at Jazz at Lincoln Center in New York City, lived up to its billing as an extraordinary evening. In a spectacular space with views of Central Park and the Manhattan skyline, 400 guests enjoyed dinner, dancing, and for the young (and young at heart), a GOLD (Graduates Of the Last Decade) After-Party. The Gala attracted alumnae/i of all generations, from the Class of 1942 to the Class of 2011, plus parents and friends.

There was more reason to celebrate after President Jane McAuliffe took to the podium and announced that Gala guests had helped the College raise $4 million for the 125th Anniversary Scholarship Initiative (see story at right). By the end of May, the scholarship total had reached $5.3 million.

Thank you to everyone—guests, sponsors, volunteers, and donors—who helped make this an extraordinary evening! (See more photos at www.brynmawr.edu/gala125.)

Scholarship Initiative Tops $5 Million

The 125th Anniversary Scholarship Initiative, launched to celebrate a milestone year and meet students’ growing need for financial aid, has raised $5.3 million, more than four times the $1.25 million goal.

“We are deeply grateful to all Scholarship Initiative donors, especially those who made their first gifts to the College or increased their giving,” said Chief Development Officer Donna Hooven Frithsen P’10. “Their generosity will help keep a Bryn Mawr education accessible to talented young women from this country and around the world.”
